(ABN: 47 091 459 026)
Meteosoft Solutions, an Australian Entity, was created to provide quality meteorological software. Current projects include:
Met Display Console
Met Display Console provides a platform to view meteorological information geographically in a time series, such as satellite, radar, winds etc. Each layer overlays the other.
NephiSys
The NephiSys Cloud Observing System detects the cloud amount and the main cloud type. The cloud amount is determined from the blue component of a whole sky image taken by a fish-eye camera. The same image is used to determine the cloud type using multiple methods:
- Blob Analysis (for Cumulus)
- Statistical Analysis
- PCA Analysis
- Exhaustive Matching Analysis
- Cirrus Line Detection Analysis
Squall Tracker
Squall Tracker offers the following features:
- Alerts users of squalls in the general area covered by a radar location
- Alerts users of impending squalls within a given radius of one or more specific locations of interest
- Tracks each squall cell from formation to dissipation, handling splits and merges
- Offers forecast positions for the following 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 and 60 minutes, based on the average, or trends where applicable, in recent cell movement
Squall Detector
Squall Detector alerts the user to:
- Squalls in the general area covered by a radar location
- An impending squall within a given radius of one or more specific locations of interest
MetStation
MetStation monitors a Vaisala WXT510 meteorological sensor and displays the results as values and in graphs. It also sends the data to external entities such as Weather Underground every 10 minutes.
